My first BadBeat ever
Hi all,
I am a semi-professional poker player who has had his share of badbeats in poker. This blog is designed so that people can share and discuss poker bad beats they have experiened.
I remember my first bad session very vividly 5 days after I started playing poker. I had a bankroll of $200 and was buyin in for $10 in $50 NL. I was the biggest fish at the table, even the fish were targeting me. But I was confident! Thanks to variance rather than to my shortstack 'strategy' - it really wasn't a strategy :) - I finally ended up with $800 3 hours later. I really believed at that point in time that I now knew how to play this game.
So I decided to move up a limit - and went directly to a table of 400NL :).
It didn't take long before I had KKand decided to raise from the button. I was 3bet by the big blind, I 4bet and we got it all in. He turns over 8s and I sigh in relief. Flop: Q84!!! At first I was shouting full of joy because I still believed to have won. Only after all the money went to the other guy I finally realized I was beat.
A couple of hands later I get Aces and all I am thinking now is how to punish this guy. Same situation: I raise from the button, he re-raises me from the big blind, but this time I only called to trap him. F:624 rainbow. Great, I raised his cbet and we got it all in again. Turn:2. River: 8!!!
I had just lost two stacks as a favorite on the same table against the same guy with exactly the same hand. But worse, those two stacks were my entire bankroll :)
Anyway, I would love to hear some badbeat stories from you or maybe post a handhistory with your comments.
